Five levels of Linn LP12

When it comes to the Sondek LP12, it’s not quite as simple as the three levels of Linn (Majik, Akurate, Klimax); there are so many additional variables.
At Adventures in Hi-Fi, we have no less than five Sondeks on permanent demonstration, with plenty of additional options for improvement.
#1 – Klimax LP12 – Keel subchassis, Ekos SE tonearm, Kandid moving coil cartridge, Radikal power supply (Klimax machined enclosure), Fluted oak plinth

#3 – Akurate LP12 (2) – Kore subchassis, Akito tonearm, Krystal moving coil cartridge, Lingo 4 power supply, Black plinth
#4 – Majik LP12 (1) – Standard Linn subchassis, Krane tonearm, Adikt moving magnet cartridge, Lingo 4 power supply, Walnut plinth
#5 – Majik LP12 (2) – Standard Linn subchassis, Krane tonearm, Adikt moving magnet acrtridge, Majik power supply (internal)
The influence each component part has on an LP12’s performance follows the logic of how it operates and how musical information flows. First the bearing, then power supply, subchassis, tonearm, cartridge and phono stage. In that order. We can demonstrate the impact each component makes through A/B comparative listening.
We service and upgrade multiple LP12s every week for existing owners, as well as building brand new decks for customers just beginning their vinyl journey. There’s nothing quite like it!
Our full LP12 service is £150 which includes replacement of all perishable parts (springs, grommets, oil, etc. plus £50 if a new belt is required.
