New Accuphase: DC-500 DAC and DG-78

We have two new Accuphase products to tell you about – DC-500 DAC and DG-78 voicing equaliser.

As our music sources continue to expand, having a top-tier DAC is more important than ever and the DC-500 is built to handle them all, featuring six digital inputs – including two USBs – for adding a high-end streamer, music server, laptop, CD transport or any other digital source you’re using.

Borrowing heavily from the flagship DC-1000, but at a more accessible price point, it packs an 8-channel parallel ES9028PRO MDS++/MDSD setup alongside Accuphase’s proprietary ANCC low-noise circuitry. In plain terms? Eight parallel DAC circuits working together to deliver ultra-low noise, virtually zero distortion and an effortlessly natural presentation that keeps every tiny detail of your music intact. Initial reports on DAC-500 are very good indeed… as you would expect from Accuphase!

DG-78 Digital Voicing Equaliser
DG-78 is Accuphase’s sixth-generation flagship equaliser, designed to eliminate room-induced acoustic distortion, acting as a high-precision room correction processor and an 80-band graphic equalizer.

With independent sound field compensation and equaliser sections, it analyses room acoustics and applies precise corrections to achieve more accurate frequency response and imaging. High-precision DSP processing handles input signals up to 384 kHz natively without downsampling, preserving signal integrity across a wide range of digital sources. A professional-grade AM-68 microphone is included, to analyse your listening space automatically, and users can draw custom, target sound field reproduction curves directly onto the high-resolution IPS color touchscreen with the included stylus.
