New Rega ELEX MK4 integrated amplifier

Rega has released the fourth generation of it’s acclaimed Elex integrated amplifier and this one is an absolute cracker.

We’ve had Elex MK4 in our dem room for a few weeks now, testing with a variety of bookshelf and floorstanding speakers and we are really impressed by it. MK4 is a considerable improvement on the previous Elex, outperforming integrated amps well above it’s price point (£1,199) and with the addition of digital inputs and inclusion of an internal phono stage (MM) for turntable connection, has all the connectivity options you should need.

A high performance stereo integrated amplifier, Elex MK4 is housed in a brand new case to match the rest of the Rega range, using Rega’s multi-award winning class A/B power amplifier circuit which delivers an impressive 72W per channel into 8Ω loads (90W into 6Ω). New rear connectivity options are available with the Elex MK4 now including a Rega DAC circuit with two digital inputs and a high quality headphone output conveniently located on the front panel.

The Elex MK4 is capable of driving difficult loudspeakers with ease and offers an impressive range of connectivity options. In addition to the line level, digital inputs and a high quality moving magnet phono stage, you will also find Pre-out and Record Out functionality alongside a headphone output. Special attention has been paid to the selection of key audio components. Discrete circuitry, high quality relays, polypropylene capacitors and Sanken output transistors are used throughout the design.
