Audio Origami PU7 GTS

Now at Adventures – Audio Origami tonearms

14 May 2026

We are absolutely thrilled to have our first Audio Origami tonearm in store and on deck!

The PU7 GTS arrived at Adventures last week and is now sitting pretty on our Selekt level Linn LP12, perfectly paired with the outstanding Dynavector TKR (Te Kaitora Rua) moving coil cartridge.

Audio Origami follows in a long line of excellent Scottish audio engineering companies – think Linn, Systemdek, ART Loudspeakers, Fyne Audio – and one that until recently had been something of a hidden gem. But Audio Origami’s times are a changing…

Established back in 2005 by John Nielson (or Johnny Origami as he was better known to some), the company is now under the stewardship of Stephen Cosh, an expert engineer in his own right who has been quietly making a range of vinyl-centric audio products for 30+ years.

If you’re active on any of the LP12/Rega/turntable forums or groups, you will likely have heard a lot about Audio Origami tonearms, and owners waxing lyrical about their performance. Demand is high for Audio Origami, and we are thrilled to finally have one of these esteemed arms on demo.

The PU7 GTS is a masterpiece of engineering. Precision-machined and hand-built in Scotland, it offers a rare combination of engineering integrity, musicality and affordability.

PU7 GTS builds on the balanced design, precision bearings and careful control of resonance that made original PU7 a reference point for performance at this level. The GTS incorporates technology developed for the flagship PU8 Reference tonearm; refinements that further improve structural stability and vibrational control, allowing the cartridge to operate in a quieter and more stable mechanical environment.

At the heart of the design is a constrained-layer armtube incorporating Audio Origami’s latest Meta-Material Arm Damping System (M.M.A.D.S.), mounted within a more robust bearing assembly. A carbon-fibre inner tube is suspended within a precision-machined metal outer tube, with the space between filled with lightweight damping resin. This multi-layer structure dissipates airborne, structural and groove-borne vibration by converting unwanted energy into heat, and prevents resonance from degrading the signal. The result is lower background noise, improved detail retrieval and a more stable, natural presentation.

Constrained Layer Composite Armtube

The new GTS armtube combines an aluminium or titanium outer tube with a suspended carbon-fibre inner tube, bonded with specialised damping material. This multi-material structure delivers exceptional stiffness and vibration control, making the armtube far more inert and stable than typical single-material armtube designs.

Meta Material Armtube Damping System V2

M.M.A.D.S. suspends the internal wiring within a controlled, low-resonance structure, shielding the signal from resonance and RF interference. This results in a cleaner, purer signal path that preserves more of the music’s subtle detail and natural tone.

Pro-Headshell with Cartridge Enhancer V2

The new Pro-Headshell offers improved ergonomics and a sleeker, more rigid profile, giving cartridges a more stable and precise platform. Paired with a solid Delrin Cartridge Enhancer, it further suppresses micro-vibrations, delivering a cleaner, more controlled sound.

Internal wiring is Cardas as standard. Connections are Zavfino throughout, and the arm terminates in a 5-pin DIN connector, allowing you to choose the tonearm cable that best suits your system and making future upgrades straightforward.

Available with Rega or Linn mounts and in lengths from 9” to 13”, the PU7 GTS integrates easily with a wide range of turntables, from classic suspended designs to modern high-mass decks.

The result is a tonearm that delivers the precision, stability and musical engagement Audio Origami is known for, while offering one of the most compelling performance-to-price ratios available in high-end analogue playback.
