Two new Dynavector MC carts

24 June 2026

Dynavector has unveiled two new reference moving coil cartridges: XV Prima and flagship XV Ultima, representing the culmination of more than four decades of analogue cartridge development.

Building on the acclaimed XV platform, both new models incorporate Dynavector’s proprietary Special Annealing magnetic circuit technology, alongside the company’s signature eight-Alnico-magnet design, Flux Damper system and open-body construction.

Special Annealing is a heat-treatment technique applied to the magnetic materials used in a cartridge’s magnetic circuit. The process optimises the magnetic circuit by relieving internal stresses in the magnetic materials, helping the cartridge’s generator respond more accurately to the tiny movements of the stylus, resulting in improved detail retrieval, greater dynamic expression, lower noise and a more natural, lifelike presentation of music.

XV Ultima
The new flagship, XV Ultima features research-grade ultra high purity iron, an ultra low mass coil assembly and enhanced magnetic circuit optimisation. Dynavector says the result is lower distortion, greater resolution, improved soundstage scale and an even deeper sense of silence between notes.

XV Prima features an African ebony body, for exceptional stability, tonal accuracy and natural musicality.

We’re expecting these in the next few weeks, get in touch if you’re interested in a listen.
