Meet the new member of Valhalla Electronics LP12 range – External Zeus MkII motor speed controller and sensor.
Valhalla Electronics produces a unique range of turntable components designed as replacements and upgrades for older power supplies like Linn Valhalla, early Lingos, Hercules, etc. Perfect for Sondek LP12 owners whose decks are still running perfectly well but whose power supply has failed. We have been fitting Minos and Zeus power supplies to Linn decks for a couple of years now; customers are delighted and they work brilliantly.
This new psu is based on the existing Zeus circuit board, but housed in a slimline, anodised aluminium case – in silver or black – with a real time, optical speed sensor for continuous speed correction, which is so critical to LP12 performance. Zeus MkII uses highly accurate and pure sine wave frequency synthesis, controlled to 0.001 Hz. Its internal optical platter feedback sensor locks platter rotation at rock-solid speeds, compensating for worn belts, pulleys, bearings, motors and stylus drag.
The unit adds an OLED touchscreen display where you can easily configure all parameters, monitor RPM, WOW, bearing and stylus runtimes. And of course you can switch from 33 1/3prm to 45 with ease, through the touchpanel or the supplied Linn-style black Red/Green LED toggle switch. A breakout board is installed on the Linn cross brace, where the OLED, sensor, switch and motor are attached. RRP is £1195.
